The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a deadly crash early Sunday morning.
The accident happened just after 6 a.m. on U.S. Highway 77 located two miles of Ardmore in Carter County.
Authorities said a Pontiac driven by 44-year-old Dustin Pittman of Elk City traveled southbound when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with an embankment. Troopers said Pittman was pinned for an unknown amount of time.
Medical personnel from the Southern Oklahoma Ambulance Service said Pittman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
OHP said Pittman was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision.
