Oklahoma City Public Schools will soon offer the COVID-19 vaccine for students and staff, as well as host testing sites at all middle and high schools.
In a letter to OKCPS families, Superintendent Dr. Sean McDaniel said the initiative will allow the students interested in receiving the vaccine to be fully vaccinated by fall break.
“In addition to the mask requirement and other layers of safety we have put in place, OKCPS is pleased to be able to offer COVID-19 testing, as well as access to the COVID-19 vaccine for our students and staff,” McDaniel said.
District employees who provide proof of vaccination by Nov. 15 are eligible to receive a one-time $1,000 stipend.
The clinics will be hosted in partnership with the Oklahoma City-County Health Department.
Vaccine opportunities will begin August 26.
Students under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian complete a consent form.
