An art exhibit at the Greenwood Gallery is showcasing iconic civil rights leaders with a twist.
It's called "Leaders in Color", and artist Trueson Daugherty says he wants to make his art simple and easy to understand for people to both admire and be inspired.
Daugherty says there's not a deeper meaning behind the pieces, he just wanted to paint Black American leaders in a beautiful way.
The "Leaders in Color" exhibit will be at the Greenwood Gallery until mid-October and it is free to visit Wednesday through Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.
News On 6’s Meredith McCown tells us what the artist hopes people take away from his artwork, at 4 p.m.
