The Tulsa State Fair opens Thursday for the first time in two years after the majority of the event was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fair will run for “11 Days of Awesome” until October 10.
There are more than 60 rides, dozens of various food vendors, livestock competitions, concerts, and more. Opening hours vary per day so make sure to check their website before arrival.
Buildings at the event will open at 11 a.m. on Thursday and the midway with food and rides will open at noon. The ticket office will open at 10 a.m. everyday. To find a lineup of events happening, Click Here.
Officials say they are following the Tulsa Health Department’s COVID-19 health protocols, so right now wearing a mask is not required but if you would prefer to wear one you of course can.
THD will also be providing COVID-19 vaccines every day without an appointment inside the main building.
Inspectors have completed their mandatory ride safety checks and given the “all clear” to each ride you will find here this year. Food vendor inspectors are working their way through each booth to make sure each vendor is up to code as well. They will be checking each vendor for the duration of the eleven-day fair.
The Tulsa Fair’s Amanda Blair said they are so excited to safely open the gates for a full-blown event Thursday morning.
“The event is predominantly outside, especially on the midway and the food,” Blair said. “I think people are really excited to get back and try some of their fair favorites and there is of course always new fair fun foods as well.”
You can buy tickets either on the Tulsa State Fair website or at the gate in person when you arrive.
