Governor Kevin Stitt is at the US-Mexico border with a group of Republican Governors.
The Governor's office says the purpose of the trip is to see the situation on the border first-hand and to get a briefing from the Texas Department of Public Safety. It comes two weeks after more than half of the Governors in the United State sent a letter to President Biden asking for a meeting to discuss the border.
It's something they are calling a national security crisis because of what they call "unenforced borders." The Governor will be taking a boat tour of the Rio Grande Wednesday afternoon.
