Crews in Broken Arrow are making sure roads and bridges are safe as the next round of winter weather moves in.

As of Wednesday afternoon, all bridges, main and side roads have been treated twice with salt.

When it starts raining, crews will treat them again.

When it starts snowing, crews will move to plow the roads instead. Crews are working 12-hour shifts.

The first team of 16 workers started treating roads at midnight and the second crew took over Wednesday morning.

A city spokesperson said that the schedule will continue through the next couple of days.

Crews will be on standby to respond to any downed trees, debris, or traffic signal issues if needed.

The city of Broken Arrow has 2,400 tons of salt, plus 16 trucks with plows and sanders are ready to go.

Fleet maintenance crews are also prepared to fix equipment.

You can find updates on service delays or any city building or road closures on the city’s website.
