A metro teenager was taken into custody by Oklahoma City police following a shooting that killed 24-year-old Tyree Lowman this weekend.
Police tracked the 15-year-old suspect down several hours after the shooting and booked him into the Oklahoma County Juvenile Justice Center on a murder complaint.

Oklahoma City police first learned of the shooting after Lowman showed up to the emergency room of a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Police said Lowman was taken to the hospital by someone who was at a party with him.
“Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead there,” Oklahoma City Police Department Sergeant Dillon Quirk said.
Police then turned their attention to a southwest Oklahoma City apartment complex where the party was held.
“Officers were able to find a shooting scene inside an apartment at Pickwick Place at I-240 and May,” Oklahoma City Police Department Lt. Jeff Cooper said.
Officers learned a fight broke out at the party involving Lowman and several other people.
At one point, police said the 15-year-old suspect showed up armed with a gun.
“There was an altercation between the two that led to gunfire,” Quirk said. “The victim was shot once.”
After speaking to witnesses, police learned the teenager's name and possible location. As investigators worked to find the suspect, neighbors were surprised to see a crime scene outside their doors.
“I was just coming back from work,” neighbor Edwin Tabenyah said. “I never like (to) go closer to know what was going on.”
