Police release the name of the man involved in an officer involved shooting Monday night.

Officers arrested 19-year-old Christian Green after a bullet grazed an Oklahoma City police officer. It happened at the Oklahoma County Crisis Intervention Center, 2625 General Pershing Blvd., in Oklahoma City.

Police say Green was a patient there and attacked several employees before the shooting. The call came in around 7 pm Monday, when police responded to a person attacking several medical staff members inside the center.

“At least three employees were hurt,” said Sgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department.

One who police say suffered a head wound after being hit over the head with a three-hole punch.

“As police were responding, one of the officers arrived and immediately engaged the suspect inside the building,” said Sgt. Knight.

Police say an officer went inside the building to confront the suspect when the two got into a scuffle.

“He got a hold of the officer's gun tried to take it out of the holster tried to take it from the officer, as he was trying to pull it out of the holster and get the gun the gun discharged causing a graze wound to the officer's leg,”

News 9 has learned there is security at the facility, but what role in the incident, if any, is not known. What we do know is the center is an emergency room for behavioral health issues and offers urgent care for people who stabilize within 24 hours. There is also an inpatient wing. This is also a place law enforcement would take someone who is experiencing a mental health emergency.

In a statement to News 9, Oklahoma Department Of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Jeffrey Dismukes said:

Late Monday evening, there was an incident at the Oklahoma County Crisis Intervention Center where a consumer became combative with staff. An officer at the center who was transporting another consumer engaged to assist. During the incident, the officer’s firearm was discharged, grazing his leg. Three OCCIC staff received injuries while trying to control the consumer. All received appropriate medical attention, and the department will ensure that they have access to any additional services as needed. Additionally, the department is ensuring that all staff have access to available resources to address any needs resulting from the event. No member of the staff were injured as a result of the discharged round. The individual was taken into police custody.
The department is grateful for the actions of all involved with controlling the situation.
Staff at the facility work with an acute population. This should be a reminder of the incredible work that they do every day to address the behavioral health needs of our state and their dedication to the people of Oklahoma. Their compassion and caring truly makes a difference. The department is cooperating with local law enforcement as part of an active criminal investigation and is unable to provide additional detail at this time.

It’s unclear what treatment Green was undergoing at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, the officer was treated and released. The employees also are expected to be okay. The suspect was not hurt.

Green was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on complaints of assault and battery on medical staff, assault with a dangerous weapon on medical staff, and assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.
