20-Year-Old Shot, Killed By Roommate At SW OKC Apartment Complex

A 20-year-old man was shot and killed by his roommate on Thursday in southwest Oklahoma City, according to Oklahoma City Police.

Police said the shooting happened at around 9:38 a.m. at an apartment complex near Southwest 74th Street and Interstate 44.

When police arrived on scene, they found Matthew Harvey, 20, dead in his apartment.

Police learned that the suspect, Ross Watkins, and the victim were roommates and had gotten into an altercation that led to the shooting.

Watkins was still on scene and was arrested on the complaint of possession of a firearm after a former conviction of a felony.

Police said the district attorney’s office will determine if any charges are appropriate in relation to the shooting.
