70-Year-Old Dead, Suspect Arrested After NE Oklahoma City Assault

A 70-year-old man has died and a suspect was arrested after an assault that happened Friday in northeast Oklahoma City, authorities said.

Members of the United States Marshal Service were in the area near Northeast 21st Street and Kelham Avenue to serve a felony warrant on Albert Gattison, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Gattison was located as he was getting treated for injuries he received during an assault, the affidavit said. 

Witnesses told authorities the suspect, who was later identified as 22-year-old Jermaine Harvey, hit Gattison in the face three to five times with a closed fist.

Gattison was transported to the hospital where he was placed on life support and died Wednesday due to injuries sustained, Oklahoma City Police said.

Harvey was interviewed Sunday where he confirmed with authorities that he was involved in the physical altercation.

Harvey was arrested and booked on the complaint of aggravated assault and battery, but the complaint has been amended to first-degree manslaughter.
