Charges have been filed against two people in connection to a 2020 double-homicide in Chickasha.
On November 8, the Grady County DA filed two counts of first-degree murder against Kenneth Lee Johnson, 37, and accessory to murder in the first degree against his wife, Katrina Johnson, 39.
Just after midnight November 20, 2020, officers were called to the Virginia Street Apartments in Chickasha.
Ashley Cannon, 37, and her unborn baby, Nala, were found dead inside Cannon’s apartment.
Cannon was 8.5 months pregnant.
“When officers arrived on the scene, they were made aware of two small children that had run to the neighbor’s house and told the neighbor that they thought their mom was dead,” said Detective Lauren Jewell of the Chickasha Police Department.
The two small children were Ashley’s two sons.
In a press conference held at the Chickasha Police Department on December 1, 2020, Cannon’s family emotionally pleaded for help.
“Just find him please,” said Cannon’s sister, Alisa Brown. “I can't sleep. I don't know what to do. Just share it. Share. Share. Share.”
“She was the sweetest person, (she) would have given you anything and everything she had,” said Carmella Brown, another sister of Cannon’s. “She didn't deserve this. She didn't ask for it. Her boys didn't deserve it, we didn't deserve it.”
