Charges will be recommended for a Fairview Public Schools superintended related to a shooting earlier this year, according to the Major County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say that a woman was shot in her home in March and that Superintended Craig Church admitted that he was 'hunting coyotes near her home'.

Major County Sherriff Anthony Robinson confirmed that OSBI tested the stray bullet, and despite tests coming back inconclusive, they showed a high probability that it came from Church's firearm.

Robinson also confirmed that charges against Church will be recommended to the county's District Attorney's Office.

These charges would include felony discharge of a firearm, discharging a firearm into a place where a person could be endangered, and reckless conduct with a firearm.

Robinson confirmed that a warrant hasn't been issued for Church's arrest and Church was not placed on leave during the investigation.
