Old School Cruisers car show seven years in the making is all about giving back.

Little did they know, they were giving back way more than they anticipated.

“We’ve been doing car shows for about seven or eight years,” said Pastor Mike, president of the Old School Cruisers car club.

They are the old school cruisers car club. and this Saturday there will be no shortage of really cool cars for a really good purpose.

“Wo would like for our firefighters to be blessed with bottled water, the impact that we can have on the homeless alliance and the homeless community,” said Pastor Mike.

They are asking everyone, participants and guests, to bring a case of bottled water to be given to the Midwest City Fire Department, as well as slightly used or new athletic shoes for the homeless alliance.

“It gives us a whole new meaning on why we put car shows together,” said Pastor Mike.

The car show is free to attend. There will be entertainment and vendors in the Heritage Plaza parking lot, at Reno and Air Depot in Midwest City.

“It’s $20 for cars, $15 for non-cars, three-wheelers as well as motorcycles,” said Pastor Mike.

“Lloyd had just gotten his '72 Chevy and I’ve got an old truck too, and I said man we ought to go to this car show, and he was like in awe,” said Annette Allison a participant in last year’s car show.

Last year’s car show changed the lives of Annette and her husband Lloyd.

“I look up and here comes this guy walking toward us,” said Lloyd Allison.

That guy was Geno Harkins, also known as 'Corvette Geno'.

“Can you help with some wiring on the windows? I couldn’t figure out why the windows wouldn’t work up and down,” said Harkins.

Lloyd and Annette went and fixed the truck windows that day.

“And since then, he’s been out there until midnight almost every night,” said Harkins.

They have all become like family and Mr. Geno is still happily driving his '74 Chevy truck that he bought brand new.

“I’ll be ninety in about three months, and I wanted to drive this thing a little bit before I meet my maker up there,” said Harkins.

“It’s why we do what we do, is to make a difference,” said Pastor. Mike

The car show is the Saturday, June 15, in the Heritage Plaza parking lot. Registration starts at 9 a.m. For more information visit their Facebook page @ Old School Cruisers, Inc.
