After being crowned Miss Oklahoma earlier this month, Lauren Frost sat down with News 9 to discuss what's next in store for her.
Frost, who competed as Miss Bricktown, is the 90th woman to be crowned Miss Oklahoma. She is now set to represent the state in the Miss America Pageant.
When asked about her recent win, Frost said she is still trying to process how she felt.
"I blacked out, it has taken me days to kind of remember those feelings," Frost said. "I just remember feeling so honored because it was the 90th Miss Oklahoma... so I'm carrying 90 years of legacy."
Frost said she was raised in Wagner, Oklahoma, and now lives in Oklahoma City, and that she feels all of Oklahoma supporting her.
"I feel like have a good understanding of the people," Frost said. "I have been poured into by this community, and I want to represent them on a national level."
Frost also said she wants to work more with advocacy, specifically, adoption.
"I was adopted, and so I advocate for adoption," Frost said. "Whether that's providing resources so people know their options, or giving a voice [to] kids that are looking for a forever family."
Frost also shared more about her upbringing, and why adoption advocacy is important to her.
"I was adopted as an infant, and I now have a really great relationship with my birth mom," Frost said. "She is wonderful and has a great, great relationship with my parents as well, and so I think it's proof that adoption can be full of hope and love and that it can be really, really sweet. She was there that night when I won."
As for her talent she showcased during the Miss Oklahoma competition, Frost also shared more about clogging.
"I'm a clogger, I was the only clogger on the stage," Frost said. "It's always really fun to bring that to people, and sometimes it's their first time even hearing about clogging... so I'll get to bring that to Miss America and it'll be so fun. I've been doing it since I was five and my feet move really fast."
Frost also spoke more about the pageant, and what is means for her and her life.
"I have graduated debt-free from college because of this organization," Frost said. "I have landed a career at the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics because of my interview skills that I have learned the organization. I was competing for years before I won, so what I would tell them is you have to trust your timing every single one of those years."
