The description on Costco.com says the bucket is supposed to provide peace of mind in an emergency.
"Imagine the sudden onset of severe weather, the challenges of unexpected job transitions, or the unsettling thought of food shortages. These are the moments when having a reliable source of sustenance becomes a game-changer," the website says.
The website says freeze-dried and dehydrated food has a shelf life of 25 years and can be prepared in minutes by adding water.
"It's a tangible reminder that taking charge of your preparedness can mean the difference between uncertainty and confidence, between anxiety and stability," the website says.
