Plane Crashes At Pogue Airport

An emergency landing at the Pogue Airport in Sand Springs ended in a crash Sunday.

Firefighters say the single-engine plane's landing gear wouldn't come down so the pilot circled around the airport making the emergency landing

The fire department got the call as the pilot was in the air, and firefighters say they arrived just as he landed the plane.

"We made sure no fuel was leaking, obviously, no fire. Made sure he was safe. We did have EMSA respond as well, so EMsa was able to come and verify that he was okay. He did refuse care on scene, " said Sand Spring Fire Chief Wesley Ashford.

Investigators are looking into what caused the landing gear to fail.
