Tulsa Police Investigating After Woman Found Dead Near Peoria Bus Stop

Tulsa Police are investigating after a woman was found dead by a bus stop near 15th and Peoria.

Tulsa Police said the woman was found dead around midnight. Police had Peoria shut down for several hours overnight - but it is back open this morning.

Police said a man riding a bicycle near this bus stop saw the woman and ran to a nearby business to get help. Officers said he was screaming at people in the McDonald's drive-through trying to get someone to call 911.

When police arrived, they said they found a woman on the sidewalk next to the bus stop. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Right now, investigators aren't exactly sure how she died, and officers are now looking at nearby businesses and homes to see if maybe someone had surveillance video or a doorbell camera that may help them figure out what happened. 

Investigators believe she may have been at this bus stop for around 20 minutes before she was found. Police said the victim appeared to be a woman in her mid-30s.

Police said they know who the woman is but have not released her name.
