Oklahoma City Leaders Ask Residents To Not Report Fireworks To 911

The City of Oklahoma City is reminding residents of laws regarding fireworks within city limits ahead of the new year.

City leaders said residents are not allowed to shoot off fireworks to celebrate New Year's Eve.

According to city officials, it is also illegal to buy, sell or use fireworks in the city limits.

If you need to report fireworks, officials also ask that you call (405) 297-2222 instead of 911.

This will help keep 911 phone lines clear for people experiencing emergencies.
