The Asian Task Force of Oklahoma said it is speaking out for 71-year-old Lich Vu, who was pushed to the ground by an Oklahoma City officer in October, resulting in his hospitalization.
In bodycam video released by Oklahoma City Police, Vu can be seen arguing with Officer Joseph Gibson over a ticket before he flicks the officer in the chest when Gibson then takes him to the ground.

The incident sent Vu to the hospital, where he underwent surgery to fix a brain bleed.
Gibson was placed on paid administrative leave and charged with aggravated assault and battery.
Now, the Asian Task Force of Oklahoma said it plans to protest in response to Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond's decision to dismiss charges against Gibson.
The Oklahoma City Police Department said it is conducting an internal investigation that could result in non-criminal forms of accountability for the officer involved.

Mark Nelson, President of the Oklahoma City Fraternal Order of Police (OKC FOP) shared this statement with News 9 Tuesday afternoon:
"The recent incident was extremely unfortunate, and the FOP is always willing to discuss ways to better prepare officers and meet the needs of our community.
In fact, the FOP has reached out to and has scheduled meetings with leaders in the Vietnamese and Asian communities. We look forward to engaging in a productive dialogue in the coming days.
We take seriously the responsibility that comes with protecting all members of our community and we look forward to working through this together."
