Authorities are searching for two suspects after a short vehicle chase ended in a foot pursuit near Warr Acres late Monday night.
Police say that the incident began around 9:48 p.m. when a Warr Acres officer spotted a stolen vehicle near NW 50th Street and N. MacArthur Boulevard. The vehicle was confirmed stolen by its license plate. When officers attempted to stop the car, the driver fled at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle headed north on MacArthur before turning into a neighborhood near Northwest 61st Street. After driving through the area for several minutes, the vehicle re-entered Northwest 63rd Street but struck a curb near Northwest 63rd Street and North Mueller Avenue, possibly while attempting to turn onto Mueller, police say. The car came to a stop, and three suspects fled on foot.
One suspect was quickly apprehended, but two remain at large. Police describe the outstanding suspects as younger Black males dressed in all black, last seen near the location where the car was abandoned.
