Description
Cake pucks are chocolate-coated, hockey puck-shaped cake bites made by mixing crumbled cake with frosting, molding, chilling, and dipping in melted chocolate for a fun and festive treat.
Ingredients
- 1 box cake mix (any flavor)
- Ingredients listed on the cake mix box (eggs, oil, water)
- ¼ cup vanilla frosting or simple glaze (powdered sugar + a little milk)
- 1 bag (12 oz) candy melts (chocolate or any desired color)
- Sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Prep: Prepare and bake the cake according to the package instructions.
- Bake: Once baked, let it cool completely. Crumble the cake into fine crumbs in a large mixing bowl.
- Prep: Add ¼ cup of frosting (or glaze) to the crumbled cake.
- Mix: Mix well using clean hands until the mixture holds together like dough.
- Mix: If needed, add a little more frosting, but don’t overdo it—you want it to be moldable, not overly sticky.
- Mold: Press the mixture firmly into the silicone puck molds. Use a scraper or spatula to level off the tops so they are flat.
- Cool: Place the molds in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to firm up.
- Melt: Melt the candy melts according to package instructions.
- Melt: Pour a small amount of melted chocolate into the silicone chocolate molds, spreading it evenly. Unmold the chilled cake pucks and press each one into the melted chocolate layer.
- Mold: Pour more chocolate over the top to fully coat. Use a scraper to smooth out the tops if needed.
- Cool, Serve: Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate is set. Carefully pop the cake pucks out of the mold. Decorate with additional melted chocolate drizzles and sprinkles.
