OKANA Resort and Indoor Waterpark is set to open on February 21, bringing 100,000 square feet of climate-controlled fun to downtown Oklahoma City. The $400 million facility is expected to draw visitors from across the region, including Dallas, Tulsa, and beyond.

News 9’s David Payne, Amanda Taylor, and Karl Torp got a first look at the park, testing out the rides ahead of its grand opening. The park features a steep-drop water coaster, a lazy river, and several slides designed for all ages. The water coaster, which boasts the steepest decline of its kind, gives riders the sensation of a roller coaster before sending them into a deep dive propelled by powerful water jets.

With an indoor temperature set at 84 degrees year-round, the park offers a warm escape no matter the season. For those not staying overnight at the resort, day passes are available online. The outdoor attractions are expected to open after Memorial Day.

OKANA is poised to become a major entertainment destination in Oklahoma.
