Firefighters rescue woman from apartment fire in South Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City firefighters rescued a woman from an apartment fire at SW 62nd Street and South Walker Avenue in South Oklahoma City after arriving to find smoke billowing from an apartment building, according to the battalion chief.

The fire, contained to a single unit, was quickly extinguished. Firefighters rescued the woman before EMSA transported her for smoke inhalation. Her injuries are considered non-life-threatening, authorities say.

No other injuries were reported from the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
