ATV crash in Pottawatomie Co. leaves 1 dead

One person died Tuesday in a collision in Maud, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

OHP said an 8-year-old, who has not been identified, was operating an all-terrain vehicle that was traveling at unsafe speeds.

The crash was caused by the vehicle overturning after a sharp turn, according to OHP. The child was pinned for an undetermined amount of time before being found by the Maud Fire Department.

Following the crash, OHP said the victim was transported to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.
