Explosion at Pushmataha County Sheriff's Office injures four, displaces inmates

Four employees are injured and inmates were displaced following an explosion at the Pushmataha County Sheriff's Office Thursday afternoon, according to KXII.

Four employees are injured and inmates were displaced following an explosion at the Pushmataha County Sheriff's Office Thursday afternoon, according to KXII.

Sherrif Bj Hedgecock says two officers and two deputies sustained minor injuries, and another employee was checked out at the hospital.

The cause of the explosion is unknown. The sheriff's office and the jail were affected, according to Hedgecock. Authorites say inmates are being taken to nearby Choctaw and Atoka county jails.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol will take all Pushmataha County Sheriff's Office calls until further notice.
