Guthrie students, staff mourn loss of beloved teacher

Guthrie Public School officials have announced the death of Charlotte Mitchell, a teacher who had served the district for 31 years and was beloved among students and colleagues.

In a post on the district’s official Facebook page, leaders shared that Mitchell was known for her warm smile and dedication.

She most recently taught 6th-grade social studies at Guthrie Upper Elementary School.

GPS said counselors will be available for any student who needs to talk or work through their grief.
