Ever since I can remember there's been competition between Oklahoma City and Tulsa.

Tulsa had natural beauty and culture -- OKC the larger city and State Capitol.

Citizens of the two cities frequently turned their noses up at the other and at times, cooperation between the two cities seemed almost nonexistent.

But a year ago things changed in that relationship and most of us didn't even know it.

David Holt took office as Oklahoma City's Mayor, at the time the youngest Mayor in the nation of a city over 500,000 people.

But Tulsa has a new mayor too, only a year older than Holt, and it just so happens that the two young leaders have been buddies since their wives met at a Washington DC bunko game nearly 20 years ago.

Holt, the taller one, and Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum got together at our request at Tulsa's OneOk Field for last weekend's OKC Energy vs. Tulsa Roughnecks soccer game.

Notice anything peculiar?

They're wearing almost the exact same outfits, right down to their jeans and jogging shoes.

Mayor Bynum recalled someone in Washington joking years ago that it would be something if they both became the mayors of their home cities.

And here they are, promising a new era of turnpike detente.

By the way, the game ended in a tie.

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
