1 Dead After Being Hit By Motorcycle On Morgan Rd. North Of I-40

Police said one person is dead after being hit by a motorcycle Thursday morning on Morgan Road north of Interstate 40.

According to authorities, a man and a woman were crossing the street at Morgan Rd. when the motorcyclist hit the man.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The drive of the motorcycle was taken by an EMSA unit to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The southbound lanes and all but one northbound lane of Morgan Rd. are closed. Officers estimate the road could be closed for several hours.

Police said the the motorcycles was not speeding.
