Police Investigate After 1 Dead, 2 Injured At The Scene Of Shooting In El Reno

El Reno police say one woman was found dead at the scene of a shooting that took place Wednesday night. Police say two others were found injured and taken to the hospital with what El Reno Police say they believe were gunshot wounds. El Reno police were not able to confirm how the woman died. EL RENO, Okla. -

El Reno police were not able to confirm how the woman died. Police say an officer patrolling the area heard the gunshots come in around 9:30 p.m. and then 911 calls started coming in as well.

El Reno Assistant Chief of Police Kirk Dickerson said they do not have a suspect in custody at this time.

“We have identified a person of interest and we are pursuing those leads at this time.”

Dickerson said when police got to the scene there was a crowd.

“Upon arrival, they discovered a large group of people were there and so we secured the scene and started trying to separate the parties and assess the situation.”

Police did not say how the crowd of people knew each other.
