Oklahoma City police continue to investigate a chaotic scene that broke out on Saturday in the parking garage at Penn Square Mall.
A teenager was accused of shooting Kevion Robinson, 18, in the chest. Robinson was taken to the hospital in critical condition but was able to speak to investigators.
Robinson was able to identify the accused female shooter.
Police officials said investigators were still piecing together multiple different scenes connected to the weekend shooting near Northwest Expressway and Pennsylvania Avenue.
“In this case, it was a much larger scene because you not only have groups of people, you have vehicles trying to flee and leaving evidence behind,” said Master Sgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department.
Just before 9 p.m. Saturday, a fight broke out on the top level of the mall's parking garage.
Moments later, a witness captured video of people running and then the shots fired.
“Oh my God, does she have something in the trunk?” a person can be heard saying on the video.
Police confirmed the teenage shooter pulled a rifle from the trunk of a car and fired at Robinson.
An officer on a different call at the mall heard the commotion. According to the police report, the officer saw a gold SUV drive away from the mall with a flat tire and people screaming out of the windows.
Officers found the gold SUV in a neighborhood only blocks from the mall with the victim inside.
Robinson was taken by EMSA to an area hospital with a gunshot injury to her chest.
Robinson was able to give investigators the shooting suspect's name and car tag number. Police also pulled security camera footage from the mall for the investigation.
“At this point, we have identified all the players in this,” said Knight. “We have been able to identify a suspect. We are still working on a warrant or letting the investigation play out where she ends up under arrest.”
Police ask if anyone witnessed the shooting but did not talk to officers at the scene, to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 405-235-7300.
