The Humane Society of Tulsa is asking for donations after rescuing 131 dogs and cats from a single home.
The 50 dogs and 81 cats were taken from an Osage County home yesterday.
The humane society said this was not an abusive situation but instead one where the people taking care of them became overwhelmed.
They added that the homeowner was cooperative and voluntarily gave up the animals.
The dogs and cats are currently receiving medical attention and being checked for fleas, skin conditions, and parasites.
After this process, the animals will be sent out for adoption.
The Humane Society of Tulsa’s Transport Coordinator said if you have animals you don't think you can take care of, it is important to call for help.
"There are people that are available to help before situations become like this one,” said Lawrence DePriest, the Transport Coordinator for the Humane Society of Tulsa. “Don't be afraid to contact us, ask for help if you have a large number of animals, if you are having more animals than you think you can manage or take care of properly."
In addition to money, they also need pet food and blankets.
