OSU Hosting Southwest Regional Firefighter Challenge

The Southwest Regional Firefighter Challenge is coming up, June 6-8. News 9’s Jordan Ryan with the Arca Continental Southwest Coca-Cola Porch went to see what the competition is about.

Firefighter Kevin Johnson explains that the firefighter challenge is a physical fitness test that has turned into a competition.

“It's a mixture of all these things, put all the skills that you have done in firefighting to the test to see who can get it done the fastest,” Johnson said. “You’re using the firefighter skills that you get to use every single day to show who’s the best in the world.”

Part of the competition is the sponsorships, Johnson says. Donations benefit the program and the community.
