The Science Museum Oklahoma is helping families celebrate the New Year a little earlier this year with their Noon Year’s Eve event.

Aimed at giving children a fun way to ring in the new year without staying up until midnight, the event includes creative activities and a lively float parade.

News 9's Jordan Ryan brought the Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to the museum to see what they have planned.

The celebration, which is included with regular admission, runs from 9 a.m. to noon. Just before noon, participants will have the chance to showcase their float creations in the parade.

Another activity is making noise makers.

The event promises to be a fun way for families to enjoy the excitement of the New Year without staying up late.
